Dog Therapy sessions
August 4 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
Take 15 minutes out of your working day for cuddles with a furry friend! Slots are for up to 6 people.
We want to improve mental health in the office by giving quorum employees the opportunity to play, laugh and relax with some new furry four-legged friends.
We want to combat some of the day-to-day stresses office life can have on you by teaming up with Newcastle dog & cat shelter, and inviting along some friendly shelter dogs for some socialisation and cuddles.
Playing with animals can elevate levels of the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, which calm and relax, and can help to reduce stress in busy workplaces. Plus, thanks to the socialising aspect and being showered with love, it’s also great for the dogs themselves, too.
Trusted institutions such as the Mental Health Foundation have stated that caring for an animal can help with depression, stress, loneliness and even ADHD. There are also claims that looking after a pet can help people with Autism or older people with Alzheimer’s in various ways.
