Businesses hosting in-house across the park
After busy summer of activities the Hub decided to do a quick round-up of Family Fundays businesses across the park have been hosting in-house.
Convergys hosted a Summer Festival Event where employees were invited to bring along their families to the annual event held in the grounds of the Gosforth racecourse, a really beautiful setting! Convergys Summer Festival Double Decker bus and the bus picked up guests in Newcastle city centre stopping at FLE and CVG at Quorum before dropping at the racecourse.
Guests arrived and were greeted by members of the Convergys Experience Team and given their Convergys Festival wristbands for entry to the event along with food vouchers for the catering vendors and goodie bags for young children with the option of a candyfloss or popcorn voucher for older children.
The entertainment included:
• Live Music from: Daniel Matthews, Sam Tom-Wright and headline band Mr Funkster
• Inflatable Fun: Bouncy Castle, High Slide and Climbing Wall
• Face Painter
• Ball Pit and Soft Play for toddlers
• Children’s Entertainer who provided Balloon Sculpting and a Magic Show
In addition they had a sweetie vendor and ice-cream van on hand for sweet treats!
Helge took to the stage early on in the day and welcomed employees and their families to the event and introduced the first act Daniel Matthews (CVG employee) who kicked off the live music entertainment. A great day was enjoyed by Convergys employees and their families!
To celebrate NCFE, Reed NCFE and British Engines move to Q6 and really appreciate the fantastic facilities that they now have, NORMAN (NCFE’s social events team) organised a fantastic Family Fun day on June 14. It was held at Q6 itself on the ground floor; using all the great space they have such as the café area, meeting rooms and the outdoor spaces. They wanted to get colleagues to bring their mothers, brothers, children, mothers-in-laws or any family member they wanted to show off our lovely new building and to enjoy themselves.
There was a whole host of great entertainment for adults and children including a giant Pirate ship bouncy castle (which we spotted a few NCFER-ers enjoying a little too much!) and a small bouncy castle for the little ones.
Once everyone had arrived, grabbed a drink and tucked into some sweeties Karl Jefferies started his show which kept children (and a quite a few adults) entertained with his puppets until lunchtime!
The sun then came out as the BBQ started which was catered for by their very own Baxter Storey colleagues. Lindsey (café manager) and her team took on the big grill to feed over 100 people delicious burgers, hotdogs and chicken drumsticks.
Fay’s Painting (face painting) came down too which saw a range of butterfly and Spiderman faces running around enjoying the sunshine. At 2pm the sound of the Ice cream man tempted all the kids from the bouncy castles as they queued up to get their 99’s and ice lollies.
NCFE colleague Claire Appleby entertained children by getting creative making Father’s Day cards and even showed colleagues round our offices in an office tour.
Overall it was a brilliant day and was a great chance to get everyone together and celebrate moving into our new home. A big thanks to NORMaN for getting things organised, John Paget (facilities manager) for helping to make it happen (safely!) and SMT (NCFE’s Senior Management Team) for sticking around at the end to help tidy up!
