It’s a triple celebration as Quorum Hub pick up a Continuing Excellence Award and Events Sustainability Manager Laura McGrath picked up both North Tyneside Health Advocate of the Year and Regional Health Advocate of the Year Award.

The scheme sees elected health advocates run specific health and wellbeing campaigns for their staff then report back their progress with an end of year portfolio and award submission.
Some successful campaigns ran from Quorum Hub include:
- A park wide smoking policy
- A number of endurance cycle races along with ongoing cycle support
- Free yoga classes
- Stress Management
- Free Financial Advice and Will Writing
- Sports Tournaments, particularly football and tennis.
- Activity Days such as The Quorum Games
- Cancer Awareness and a Cancer in the Workplace Seminar
- Mental Health First Aid Training
- A Free Drop in Sleep Clinic
- Outdoor Swimming Sessions as part of our Triathlon Club
- Plant Sales promoting clean air.
and many many more!
Laura McGrath said ‘With Quorum Hub’s Better Health at Work application, we really do have a huge variety to report on in our end of year submission – with some initiatives targeted simply within our office here within the Neon building and promoted solely within our office and toward smaller tenants in the Neon Suites – such as smoothie mornings, vitamin stations and free massages, to park wide programmes like our smoking policy, Quorum Games, Cycle Rides and workshops targeted at all 6000 plus occupiers based onsite.’
‘I’d recommend any business that cares after the health and wellbeing of its staff look into the award – it’s completely free and will offer you insight into loads of areas of staff wellbeing you may never have thought of’
Quorum has hosted a number of Best Practice Sharing events onsite where health advocates come along and offer practical advice on successful campaigns, share contacts and hear from guest speakers.
Laura and her colleague, Laura McVittie, Commuter Centre Manager here at The Hub both presented at the last best practice event talking about our onsite Smoking Policy introduced in 2017 to combat smoking onsite.
