We’re delighted with the turnout for our first ever Jobs Fair
Expanding businesses and growing employment levels at Quorum Business Park were a real draw for North East jobseekers. Held last week, the Quorum Jobs Fair attracted almost 1,000 visitors eager to explore options for the next stage in their careers.
Employers from a wide range of industries were on hand to speak to those looking for work about the various roles, from entry-level to senior positions, as well as apprenticeships and training opportunities.
Organised by North Tyneside Council in partnership with Quorum Business Park, the main sponsors for the event were NCFE, Swiftpage and Convergys.
The majority of the 25 employers at Quorum were represented, with employment on the Park now growing beyond the 6,000 mark.
North Tyneside’s Elected Mayor Norma Redfearn opened the event and was delighted with the turnout.
She said: “It was fantastic to see such a huge turnout for the jobs fair. We’ve had some amazing feedback and everyone who attended found it really beneficial.
“It really shows what a thriving jobs economy we have here in North Tyneside that we can host these careers fairs and so many different businesses come along with such an array of opportunities for residents.”
Fergus Trim, Director at Quorum said ‘We have seen employment levels at Quorum grow steadily, with businesses across a range of sectors in expansion mode. It is great that we can attract the skilled workforce to help these companies to continue to grow and invest here’
Visitors were asked to complete a survey after the event, with 85% of attendees rating it as good, very good, or excellent.
