The Poppy Bus visits Greggs Head Office at Quorum Business Park - Quorum Park

The British Legion’s Poppy Appeal stopped by the Greggs House building to say thanks to Greggs for raising £150,000 in last years poppy appeal!

Building on the success of London Poppy Day and other events across the country the Legion is hoped to raise £15,000 in Newcastle in a single day and arranged a number of activities across the city. There were bucket collections across the city in offices, intu Eldon Square, Central Station and the city streets.

A number of Acting service personnel including a group of Gurkhas visited Greggs House over lunchtime. Two of the Gurkhas treat staff to a ceremonial War Dance, performed in the staff canteen.

The Royal British Legion’s work is encapsulated in its motto: Live On – to the memory of the fallen and the future of the living. The Legion is the nation’s biggest Armed Forces charity providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families.
