First of our Two Heart Start Courses Took Place in our Q Learning Building
Staff at Quorum Business Park took part in the first of two heart-start courses provided by North East Ambulance Services. The two hour course was well attended by staff from across the business park and covered basic accident response, treatment of serious injuries and choking. Particular focus was placed on Heart Attacks and Cardiac Arrest. All staff will receive a certificate recognizing their training and additional literature to help refresh their learning going forward.
Quorum Events and Sustainability Manager, Laura Barber said ‘This is the first stage in a big ramp up in our First Aid capabilities onsite, Course Leader, Alexandra Wheeler, is currently facilitating the purchase of a defibrillator that will be stored onsite in our 24 Hour Security Hut, we’ll ensure that all our security staff are trained to administer help with a Defibrillator – ensuring their is always a qualified first aid response on site. The kits are so light that they can be transported on the security staff’s bikes, which means we’ve calculated that a defibrillator is only ever 4 minutes from any potential incident.
