With the traditional bonfire night celebrations set to take a very different form this year, in the skies above Quorum Park you may well see fireworks on the fifth of November as the date marks the first anniversary of Shelborn’s acquisition of 50% of the office park.
Despite the many challenges presented by Covid-19, the first 12 months of Shelborn’s custodianship has seen a number of significant achievements and the outlook remains positive for 2021.

Within the first 6 months of the year, over 100,000 sq.ft. of lettings were concluded at Quorum, a major triumph for a regional office park at the best of times.
Efficiency solutions company, Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL) signed a 10-year lease on a 35,000 sq.ft floor plate within the Neon building, whilst Shelborn also welcomed managed print services firm Concept Group, and engineering and architectural consultancy Ramboll.
Northern Recruitment Group (NRG) acquired 9,400 sq.ft on the ground floor of Neon and in September the firm successfully completed its fit-out and relocated from its long term headquarters on Grey Street in Newcastle city centre.
Verisure also committed to a new lease this year and is now operating from its newly fitted out floor within NEON. Europe’s largest residential and small businesses monitored alarm provider, with more than 3.3 million customers in 17 countries, Verisure has taken 35,000sqft on the 1st floor of the building with first option over an additional 25,000sqft, which is earmarked for future expansion.

Verisure’s Managing Director, Gabino Sanchez, said: “We identified Quorum Park as the ideal location for our new site after deep analysis of more than 15 of the UK’s larger urban areas.
“North Tyneside stood out for many reasons including the friendliness of the people, the incredible quality of life and the high standard of education.”
This year has also seen the completion of a full refresh of the Quorum brand which has been well received by occupiers and stakeholders. A new website was launched in spring and in the summer new signage was installed across the park incorporating our brand new corporate colours.

Mark Rabinowitz, director of Shelborn Asset Management said: “The first anniversary of our acquisition is an excellent time to look back at what we have managed to achieve so far but also to focus on what we want to do in the next 12 months.
“Amenities are an essential component of Quorum’s success and we are working hard on plans to increase car parking capacity by constructing a second raised car park and also more EV charging points to help encourage the use of electric vehicles. The lettings at NEON this year have been a fantastic achievement and have led us to progress plans for the creation of a new range of office suites within another building at Quorum. We look forward to unveiling further details about this very soon.
“I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new arrivals this year and thank our on-site team and letting agents for everything that has been achieved over the past year. We look forward to seeing what we can do in the next 12 months.”
