After a brief hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Christmas returned to Quorum Park yesterday with our festive market, complete with snowboard simulator!
As well as goods from big brands, such as The Body Shop and Virgin Holidays alongside Greggs and Spanish City, smaller local success stories such as The Newcastle Biltong Company, The Brownie Bar and Plantopia, the plant shop had their wares on display to help people grab a stocking filler or two, without even leaving work.
Members of the Quorum Park community enjoyed a free mince pie and a Christmas cocktail while browsing gifts, food and drink from more than 25 vendors, including local charities such as the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter and Northumberland Wildlife Trust. Not only that, but some fantastic prizes were won, all donated by stall holders and partners from our membership benefit scheme, Q Card.
To ensure the health and safety of everyone on the day, face coverings were worn by all, and the market was held in a giant marquee on our sports courts, with hot food, inspired by cuisines from around the world, provided by mobile caterers Fat Hippo, Acropolis, Goodtimes Tacos and Memories of the Black Forest.
Our Events & Sustainability Assistant Claire Lusk said: “We were so thrilled to have the Christmas market return to Quorum Park for an amazing eighth time, especially as we were unable to hold it in 2020.
“It’s always the highlight of our annual events calendar, helping everyone enjoy some festive fun, and helping them find a huge range of gifts for their loved ones, many provided by small businesses from around the North East.
“It was fantastic to see everyone getting into the Christmas spirit, and we already can’t wait for next year’s market!”
