What a Blooming lovely surprise!
We’ve only gone and won gold at this year’s official Northumbria in Bloom awards – an annual campaign that has been around for 60 years encouraging communities to work together to enhance the environment around them.
And that’s what makes this particular gong so meaningful to us at The Hub – because it rewards the year-round team effort that goes into making Quorum Park somewhere really quite special.
So, we want to thank all our landscapers, planters, allotment event attendees, and volunteer litter-pickers for all their hard work throughout the year whatever the weather, as well as those who join us on our planned walks, and everyone that simply enjoys our space.
The Northumbria in Bloom judges remarked on the way in which we balance the needs of both people and wildlife, creating both wild and cultivated spaces to provide peace and quiet when needed, along with places for leisure and exercise – not to mention the fact that “environmental sustainability, eco-friendly management and community involvement is firmly embedded in the ethos of the site!”
All of this has culminated in the enviable title of 'Best business and out of town retail park' at Northumbria in Bloom 2024, and in all seriousness we understand how important it can be to have the chance to appreciate green space during the working day.
Such an arguably simple thing is actually quite difficult to achieve in reality, and we appreciate all of the contributions from across the Quorum Park community that have led to this acknowledgement.
